- The national 1‐866‐SPEAK‐UP hotline and text message reporting platform, the first and only national hotline for young people to anonymously report weapon threats.
- A national response center, staffed 24/7/365 by professionally‐trained counselors (70% of whom have master’s degrees), who handle and forward incoming threat reports according to a protocol developed in collaboration with leading experts in law enforcement and education like the United States Secret Service and the FBI.
- A community-based social marketing campaign, including award‐winning public service announcements (TV, radio, outdoor, print, online) and a wide variety of collateral materials and apparel, including student wallet cards, school posters, and t‐shirts, among other things.
- In addition to traditional media, the SPEAK UP awareness campaign partners with credible, local “messengers” to engage youth directly with the program’s empowering message.
